Setting a clear intention can help you focus your thoughts, recognise meaningful opportunities and take purposeful action towards the life you wish to create.

This short solar plexus chakra meditation combines original piano music, the traditional RAM mantra and calming visualisation. It was created to help you relax, connect with your inner confidence and turn a personal intention into a practical next step.

Rather than treating manifestation as simply wishing for something to happen, this meditation encourages you to bring together:

  • A clear and meaningful intention
  • Calm mental focus
  • Self-belief and personal responsibility
  • A realistic action you can take
  • Openness about how the outcome may unfold

You can use the meditation when beginning a new project, making an important decision, rebuilding confidence or preparing to take action towards a personal goal.

What Is an Intention?

An intention is a conscious decision about the direction in which you want to move.

A goal usually describes a particular result, while an intention can also describe the attitude or quality you want to bring to the journey.

For example, a goal might be:

“I want to begin a new creative project.”

A supporting intention might be:

“I intend to give my creativity regular time, attention and encouragement.”

Intentions can help bring your attention back to what matters when distracting thoughts, uncertainty or self-doubt begin to appear.

However, an intention becomes more useful when it is connected to action. After choosing your intention, ask yourself:

What is one small step I can take to support this intention?

This turns an inspiring idea into something you can begin putting into practice.

Examples of Positive Intentions

Your intention should feel personal, believable and connected to something you can influence.

Here are some examples:

  • I intend to take one meaningful step towards my creative goals.
  • I intend to treat myself with patience while I learn and grow.
  • I intend to make choices that reflect my values.
  • I intend to communicate with greater confidence and honesty.
  • I intend to create healthier boundaries around my time and energy.
  • I intend to notice opportunities without forcing a particular outcome.
  • I intend to give regular attention to the work that matters to me.
  • I intend to respond to challenges with courage and self-respect.

Try to avoid intentions that depend entirely on another person’s behaviour. Focus instead on your own choices, actions and responses.

What Is Manifestation?

Manifestation is often described as the process of bringing an idea, desire or vision into lived experience.

From a practical perspective, this may involve:

  1. Becoming clear about what you want
  2. Understanding why it matters to you
  3. Noticing any obstacles or limiting patterns
  4. Choosing an achievable next action
  5. Repeating that action consistently
  6. Remaining flexible as circumstances change

Visualisation and positive thinking may help you clarify your direction, but they do not guarantee a particular external result.

Manifestation is therefore best approached as a reflective practice that supports focus and purposeful action—not as a promise that thoughts alone will control everything that happens.

The Solar Plexus Chakra and Personal Power

The solar plexus chakra is the third of the seven main chakras described within yoga and energy-healing traditions.

Its Sanskrit name is Manipura, which is often translated as “city of jewels” or “shining gem.”

The solar plexus chakra is traditionally associated with:

  • Confidence
  • Personal power
  • Motivation
  • Willpower
  • Self-respect
  • Decision-making
  • Healthy boundaries
  • The courage to take action

It is commonly visualised in the upper abdomen, between the navel and the lower part of the ribcage.

The colour traditionally associated with Manipura is yellow, while its element is fire. Fire can symbolise energy, transformation, determination and the ability to turn an idea into action.

Chakras are part of spiritual and contemplative traditions rather than structures recognised by modern anatomy. Chakra meditation can still provide a meaningful framework for self-reflection, visualisation and emotional awareness.

Signs You May Benefit From Solar Plexus Reflection

You may be drawn to a solar plexus chakra meditation when you are experiencing:

  • Low confidence
  • Difficulty making decisions
  • Fear of criticism or rejection
  • Procrastination
  • Uncertainty about your direction
  • A lack of motivation
  • Difficulty maintaining personal boundaries
  • A tendency to give away your power
  • Pressure to prove yourself to others
  • Fear about taking the next step

These experiences do not necessarily mean that a chakra is literally blocked. They can instead be treated as gentle prompts for reflection.

Ask yourself:

  • Where am I holding myself back?
  • What decision have I been avoiding?
  • What would a confident but compassionate response look like?
  • What is within my control today?
  • What small action would help me move forward?

Watch the Solar Plexus Chakra Meditation

This six-minute intention and solar plexus chakra meditation was created to give you a quiet space in which to breathe, focus and connect with a meaningful personal intention.

The soundtrack includes original piano music composed and performed by me, Paul Grout. I played intuitively within the key of E and incorporated vocal layers of the traditional RAM mantra.

The yellow and fire-inspired imagery reflects the qualities commonly associated with the solar plexus chakra.

You do not need any previous experience of chakra meditation. Simply listen with an open mind and notice how you feel.

How to Prepare for the Meditation

Choose somewhere reasonably quiet where you are unlikely to be disturbed for approximately ten minutes.

Sit comfortably with your back supported, or lie down if that feels better for your body.

You may wish to use headphones, although they are not essential. Keep the volume at a gentle and comfortable level.

Before pressing play, choose one intention.

It may relate to:

  • A creative project
  • Your work or career
  • Confidence
  • A personal relationship
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Healthy boundaries
  • A new habit
  • A decision you need to make
  • A change you would like to begin

Try to choose one clear direction rather than several different wishes.

A Simple Intention and Manifestation Process

1. Relax your body

Allow your shoulders to soften and release any unnecessary tension from your jaw, face and hands.

Take a slow, comfortable breath in.

Breathe out gently and allow yourself to arrive in the present moment.

You do not need to force your breathing or make anything happen.

2. Connect with the solar plexus area

Bring your awareness to the area above your navel and beneath your ribcage.

You may place one or both hands gently over this area if that feels comfortable.

Notice any physical sensations without judging or trying to change them.

3. Visualise a warm yellow light

Imagine a soft yellow or golden light glowing within your upper abdomen.

The light does not need to appear clearly. You can simply think about the qualities it represents:

  • Warmth
  • Courage
  • Confidence
  • Clarity
  • Inner strength

With each comfortable breath, imagine this light becoming steadier.

4. State your intention

Silently repeat your chosen intention.

For example:

“I intend to trust myself and take the next appropriate step.”

Repeat the words slowly, allowing their meaning to settle.

Notice whether the intention feels supportive and genuine. You can adjust the wording until it feels right for you.

5. Imagine yourself taking action

Rather than visualising only the final result, picture yourself completing one helpful action.

See yourself:

  • Making the telephone call
  • Writing the first page
  • Practising the new skill
  • Having the conversation
  • Setting the boundary
  • Attending the appointment
  • Completing the application
  • Beginning the daily routine

Try to imagine when and where this action will happen.

For example:

“When I finish breakfast tomorrow, I will spend ten minutes working on my project.”

A specific plan makes it easier to move from intention into action.

6. Release attachment to a perfect outcome

You can care deeply about your intention without trying to control every part of the result.

Remind yourself:

“I will take the actions available to me and remain open to how the journey develops.”

This creates space for flexibility, learning and unexpected opportunities.

The RAM Mantra

RAM is traditionally associated with the solar plexus chakra.

It is commonly pronounced with an open “ah” sound, followed by a gentle closing “m”:

Raaammm

During the meditation, you may listen quietly to the mantra or join in softly.

Chanting creates a physical vibration through the breath, mouth, throat and body. It can also give the mind a simple sound on which to focus.

There is no need to chant loudly or produce a perfect note. Stop immediately if chanting feels uncomfortable, strained or unsuitable for you.

Why I Used Music in the Key of E

Some contemporary chakra-music systems associate the musical note E with the solar plexus chakra. These associations vary between teachers and traditions, so they should not be regarded as fixed scientific rules.

For this meditation, I used the key of E as a creative framework.

The piano music was performed in a gentle, intuitive style to support reflection without demanding too much attention. The musical space allows the intention, imagery and RAM mantra to remain central to the experience.

For me, the most important quality is not one isolated note or frequency. It is the relationship between the music, the listener’s attention and the personal meaning brought to the practice.

After the Meditation

When the music ends, remain still for a few moments.

Notice your breathing, your body and your emotional state.

You may wish to write down:

  • My intention is:
  • This intention matters because:
  • The main obstacle I may encounter is:
  • One action I can take is:
  • I will take this action at:
  • If the obstacle appears, I will:

For example:

If I begin doubting my ability, then I will work on the task for just five minutes before deciding whether to stop.

Small, repeatable actions can be more helpful than waiting to feel completely confident.

Confidence often develops through taking action, learning from experience and recognising your own progress.

How Often Can You Use This Meditation?

You can listen whenever you need to reconnect with your intention or personal direction.

You might use it:

  • At the beginning of the week
  • Before starting a new project
  • Before an important conversation
  • When motivation feels low
  • While making a decision
  • During a period of personal change
  • Before journaling
  • As part of a daily healing music ritual

You do not need to continually change your intention. Working with the same intention for several days or weeks may help you explore it more deeply.

You could also try listening once a day for seven days while recording the small actions you take.

Combining Intention With Compassion

Personal development can sometimes become another source of pressure.

You may begin thinking that you should always feel confident, focused or positive. This can make ordinary emotions such as fear, disappointment and uncertainty feel like failures.

A compassionate intention allows room for your real experience.

Instead of saying:

“I must remove every negative thought.”

You might say:

“I intend to notice difficult thoughts without allowing them to make every decision for me.”

Instead of:

“I must achieve this immediately.”

Try:

“I intend to take steady and realistic steps in the direction that matters to me.”

Your intention should support you rather than punish you.

Final Thoughts

This solar plexus chakra meditation offers a peaceful space in which to clarify your intention, reconnect with your inner strength and identify a meaningful next action.

Meditation cannot guarantee a particular outcome, but it can help you pause, organise your thoughts and approach your goals with greater awareness.

Allow your intention to guide you, but remember that you do not need to have the whole journey planned.

Begin with one step.

Let your confidence develop through experience, and remain open to learning as your path unfolds.

Thank you Paul. What a lovely chakra visit. And just when I needed a boost to keep on moving toward my intentions of writing my Caregiving book. I’m almost done but have been stuck on what to do about a website. Your lovely music and meditation reminds me of the power I have to seek my passion. Thank you. Amy
